Role summary:  The Development Assistant provides part-time administrative and project support to the Development Department, helping advance Libertas School of Memphis' fundraising, donor engagement, and community outreach efforts. This position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of development activities by maintaining accurate donor records, supporting events and campaigns, coordinating stewardship efforts, and assisting with day-to-day operations that strengthen relationships with donors, families, volunteers, and community partners.

 

Role information

  • Part-time, year-round position.
  • Regular schedule of approximately 20 hours per week, with specific days and hours determined in collaboration with supervisor based on departmental needs.
  • Occasional evening or weekend events may be required to support fundraising, donor engagement, and school activities, with schedules adjusted accordingly.
  • Key relationships: Family Engagement manager, Events Coordinator, Finance team

 

Key responsibilities

  • Support planning, implementation of donor/prospect visits, cultivation activities and fundraising events. Coordinate logistics such as invitations, RSVPs, materials, distribution of follow up materials, etc.
  • Maintain accurate, complete donor records and gift data in the donor database.
  • Process gifts, prepare acknowledgments and tax receipts, track pledge payments.
  • Coordinate stewardship activities, such as thank-you letters, recognition lists, and appreciation initiatives.
  • Track sponsorship benefits, ensure fulfillment of recognition commitments.
  • Maintain filing systems for records, gift agreements, and correspondence.
  • Other duties as assigned

Compensation: Salary equivalent to $20,000 to $30,000 (or commensurate hourly rate) based on qualifications and experience. Paid sick leave and vacation time.
