Role information
- Summary: the key person to ensure that Libertas facilities are in good order, clean, compliant, and welcoming for teaching and learning. Coordinate staff and vendors and help implement preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Schedule: Full-time, year-round. Two weeks’ paid vacation plus designated parts of school breaks. Regular hours 7:30-4:00 plus one day per week added 30min of PD time. Some schedule variations depending on facility needs, such as custodial oversight or maintenance/repair jobs requiring alternate times.
- Compensation: Salary range: $50,000 to $65,000 based on qualifications and experience. 2 weeks each paid sick, vacation time. Health insurance sponsored at 67% including family plans. Key responsibilities
Facility Support
- Proactively identify any facility needs and develop a plan for resolution.
- Manage HelpDesk system of facility related issues (cleaning, repairs) from staff members, either resolving them personally or assigning them to the appropriate party.
- Monitors the heating, cooling, ventilation systems to ensure facility is at appropriate temperature and properly ventilated.
- Directs and coordinates contracted maintenance work (i.e. HVAC, plumbing, maintenance, and custodial) for regular or unexpected needs.
- Provide management, training and support for the maintenance custodial team. Monitor daily custodial work for quality. Provide cleaning services as needed.
- Inventory materials, equipment, or facility related supplies, and coordinate with Operations Team to purchase necessary items while staying within budget.
- Manage facility keys for employees.
- Maintain documentation related to equipment and for all renovations, constructions, and equipment maintenance.
- Daily review of the physical condition of the facility at the beginning and end of each day.
- Coordinates with maintenance custodian for the performance of general repairs such as touch up painting, patching walls, security hardware, putting together furniture, hanging shelves, etc. Steps in to help when needed.
- Plan and facilitate preventative maintenance programs and repair for all major facility components (including but not limited to chiller, boiler, water pumps, fire/life safety systems, air handlers, roofing, emergency lighting, etc.).
- Plays a key role in the safety team, ensuring security of physical premises. Part of first responders, as needed, to after-hours alarm.
- Schedule and ensure annual facility inspections are passed and records are kept.
- Create facility projects for volunteer groups and manage them while on-site.
- Directs, supervises and/or performs snow removal operations of sidewalks and entrances.
- Collaborate with Director of Operations and Finance Team on vendor management, such as procuring bids on projects as needed.
- Occasionally pick up purchased items from local vendors.

- Preferred: basic proficiency in routine aspects of one or more key trades: e.g. mechanical, electrical, plumping. Maintenance and repair experience 2 years preferred.
